Papillon Press & Consultancy’s team understands that fundraising from UK donors is unlike doing so from anywhere else. With extensive experience in successfully securing funds from British donors, Jill Ritchie advises universities and not-for-profit organisations globally on navigating and understanding the needs of UK donors.
Papillon founder and lead, Jill Ritchie, has spent four decades fundraising for and advising on all aspects of raising money for non-profits in 16 countries. She is the author of over 30 books, 22 on fundraising, including the popular Fundraising from UK Donors. She has contributed to numerous online and print publications and is a qualified trainer in adult education. She advises on raising money from UK donors, as well as planning and managing capital campaigns globally. Jill has raised many millions for non-profits and tertiary institutions and was one of the first to successfully raise substantial funding from the UK Lottery for organisations outside of the UK.
Jill guest lectures remotely each year on the Stellenbosch University Business School NPO Management Programme, has presented at numerous conferences around the world, and remains in demand as a speaker. She founded and continues to arrange southern Africa’s longest running two-day fundraising conference.
Jill has mentored/coached many leading fundraisers and remains passionate about transferring her skills and experience.
She chairs the UK Fund for Charities, an organisation dedicated to facilitating UK support for non-profits around the world, and is a founding board member of iZinga Assist.
Jill is a member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Fundraising and a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Fundraising (SAIF). Her accolades include the SA Chamber of Commerce, UK Giving Back Award, 2015 and the Brand South Africa Play Your Part Award, 2017. Her past directorships include the SA-UK Trust Network (which she founded), the National Museum, Tshwane University of Technology and the Tutu Foundation, UK.
